3. Description of how our Services meet Accessibility Requirements

We endeavor to make our digital offerings accessible in accordance with the legal requirements. The specific technical measures are based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 with conformance levels A and AA. To assess conformity, automated tests, manual tests and functional tests with assistive technologies were carried out by our internal team of experts (self-assessment). We are guided by the four basic principles of accessibility:

3.1 Perceptibility

• We offer text alternatives for non-textual content such as images and graphics

• Our content is designed in such a way that it can be presented in various forms

• We pay attention to sufficient contrasts between text and background

• Audio and video content is provided with subtitles or transcriptions

3.2 Usability

• All functions can be operated via the keypad

• Users have enough time to read and use content

• We refrain from content that could trigger seizures

• We offer assistance for navigation and orientation

3.3 Comprehensibility

• Texts are legible and easy to understand

• Websites behave predictably

• We help users to avoid and correct errors

3.4 Robustness

• Our content is compatible with current and future technologies

• We use standard-compliant programming

4. Non-accessible Content

The following content of our digital offerings does not yet fully comply with accessibility requirements.

• Operating instructions for coffee machines and other household products (PDF format): These operating instructions and PDF documents with a similar purpose relate to products that do not fall within the scope of the relevant national implementation laws of the European Accessibility Act. In addition, this content was created before the national implementation laws came into force and is covered by the exemption for archive documents. Although there is no legal obligation to do so, we are working to gradually make new operating instructions and other PDF documents accessible and replace them. If necessary, we will provide this content in an alternative format upon request.

• Product images in older catalogs and archive areas: Some older product images in archive areas of our digital offerings do not yet have complete alt text or sufficient descriptions. This content was created before the national implementation laws of the European Accessibility Act came into force and falls under the exemption for archive documents. We are continuously working to provide product images in active sales areas with meaningful alt text.

• Chatbot function: Our chatbot does not currently meet all accessibility requirements. We are currently working on an accessible version of our chatbot and, during the transition period, will offer equivalent alternative communication channels that are accessible upon request.

• Temporary campaign pages and marketing promotions: Some of our temporary campaign pages and special promotions that are not directly part of the purchasing process (no possibility of concluding a contract) do not yet meet all accessibility requirements. These pages do not fall within the core area of electronic commerce as they do not directly serve the purpose of concluding a contract. All campaign pages that contain direct purchasing options are given priority in terms of accessibility. For purely informational and marketing pages, we are gradually implementing accessible alternatives. The essential information from these campaigns is always accessible via our accessible webshop pages.

• Embedded videos from external sources: We cannot guarantee full accessibility for some embedded videos from third-party providers, as this content is beyond our control. We are trying to encourage these providers to make their content accessible.
